Finding Love, Joy & Meaning in Everyday Life
Making the decision to seek counseling can be an anxious time. I am glad you are reviewing your choices and understanding the process toward being an informed consumer. Therapy can be a positive, productive, and deeply satisfying experience. It can give you a chance to address concerns that may be affecting your work, relationships, spiritual beliefs, and/or your happiness and peace of mind. Therapy may be active and solution-focused, or quiet and reflective, it provides a chance to explore your understanding of yourself and others, and address specific struggles.
My philosophy of counseling is based on a 'wellness model'. This means that I am committed to the belief that you, the client, have an innate drive towards health and growth, and the inner wisdom to make constructive changes in your life.
I received my Masters degree in Counseling with a focus on Child and Family Therapy, from Seattle Pacific University in 1993. I have worked with individuals, couples, children and families for over 15 years in both the public and private sector.
I am approved as a Clinical Supervisor through the California Board of Behavioral Sciences and serve as a Subject Matter Expert developing licensing board exams for Marriage & Family Therapist in California.
I appreciate the opportunity to work with you and will honor your process as a unique individual.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
With Warm Regards,
Melissa Robinson, M.S.
